President
Yarrow Flower
Yarrow has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2008. Originally from rural Northern California, Yarrow Flower graduated from Humboldt State University with a BA in Sociology. She moved to Maui in 2001 and started her career with Maui Land & Pineapple Company, Inc (ML&P) in 2004. Yarrow’s responsibilities in the Community Development Division of ML&P include all aspects of real estate development including land entitlement, design, permitting, construction management, and sales. Additionally, she enjoys volunteering as a board member for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Maui and as a member of the Cost of Government Commission for the County of Maui. Yarrow also serves on the steering committees for the Sustainable Living Institute of Maui (SLIM) and the Ka Ipu Kukui fellowship program. Yarrow lives in Makawao with her husband. She enjoys traveling, gardening, reading and hiking.

Jennifer Akiona
Jennifer joined the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Maui Board of Directors in 2008. Jennifer is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the Maui Medical Group and she has over 18 years of experience in the field of accounting, 12 of which has been with the Maui Medical Group. She graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a Bachelor of Business degree with an emphasis in Accounting. She later earned her Certificate in Public Accounting (CPA) while working at Coopers & Lybrand in both tax and audit. Her interests include reading, jewelry making, drawing and paiting, photography, hiking, paddle boarding and doing anything outdoors.

Tanya Hansen
Tanya has been a member of the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Maui since November 2009. She has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Washington and is employed as a Mental Health Case Manager for Aloha House. Along with her husband, Scott, she co-owns and operates their family business, Advanced Roofing Solutions. As a mother of three, Tanya has a strong commitment to the welfare of Maui’s youth. She is actively involved in her children’s schooling and is currently serving her second year on the Board of Directors for the Maui Dolphins Swim Club. Spending time with family, traveling, and enjoying Hawaii’s beauty are among her favorite things to do.
